"Last Run"
Storytime! I was inspired to make this painting while completing my AST 1 (Avalanche Safety Training). My partner's father (Terry) also came out for the course and we spent the day practicing in Kootenay Pass. Unfortunately, the snow was tricky with a crust and Terry had a hard time with his gear, breaking his bindings and both of his poles. But he was a trooper and the main muse for my painting, as seen in the foreground. It was a great course, and one where I met a good portion of my current ski friends!
